I doubt it. He's got more of his own problems to deal with - see the Chicago Annenberg Challenge thread that the resident Obama supporters are studiously ignoring.

You can have the "Chicago Annenberg Challenge," whatever the hell that is. I'll take the "McCain has so many houses that he can't remember how many it is." Let's see which one is repeated ad nauseum for the next two months.

Yes, being too rich to count your houses is a much more egregious offense than refusing to release documents that might prove your connection to a known terrorist. I think I'll take that exchange.
Edit - spelling.

BINGO. You can't play the "my opponent is an elitist but I'm a man of the people" card when you think you aren't rich until you are pulling down $5M and you own more houses than you actually know you own.

SB predictably jumps to the class warfare comeback because why? There is no other way to defend the McCain answer. Either McCain is so addle brained / elderly that he really can't remember or he/his family have enough residences that he truly doesn't know. When you are trying to portray yourself as everyman and ride the Straight Talk Express one should start by having straight answers.

Makes more sense to have a "rich" president.
Who wants somebody that "owes" at the top?
And how will they pay them back?

Agree. To me it is the same as George HW Bush not knowing the price of a loaf of bread, or "HW's" awe of the scanners in the grocery store, which every shopper knew had been in for a number of years. Just out-of-touch with the average American.
If you had 9 houses on 7 properties wouldn't you know that? He either was embarrassed at his good fortune, or he was ignorant of what he had. I surely hope it wasn't the latter.

He doesn't own any of them. They are all Cindy's.
As for George H. W. Bush, he was the Vice President when supermarket scanners became common. How often does the Vice President of the United States shop in the supermarket?

McCain's campaign, though, took it amiss and struck back hard. Brian Rogers, McCain's spokesman, said:
"Does a guy who made more than $4 million last year, just got back from vacation on a private beach in Hawaii and bought his own million-dollar mansion with the help of a convicted felon really want to get into a debate about houses?"

I'm more angry I don't have a rich friend that is willing to give me $600,000 so I can afford a really nice house.

Don't you and your conservative friends stick together?
You'd think a sharp guy like yourself would get hooked up with Lars or some other Chicago real estate type and cut you in on the action.
You just have the wrong friends bob. Better start picking them better.

Yep, I should have friends like Obama, convicted felons. That must be why the Dems are always complaining about them not getting a vote.

I love it when people bring up the scanner thing, because it is the perfect example of the fact that sound bites play without regard to spirit or accuracy. Bush knew damn well what a barcode scanner once, Snopes did a writeup on it. Of course, truth and what voters think are often two different things, and this goes far beyond political ideology. Although I think GWB legitimately did not know the price of a gallon of milk.

Well, McCain married someone who pleaded facts sufficient... i'd say that's worse than some vague allegations George Stephanopolous can't let go.
