The bluer MN gets the tougher it will be for Norm to keep his US Senate seat.
Norm's best hope is to have McCain choose MN guv Pawlenty, a guy who said the GOP needs to appeal to Sam's Club members rather than country club members. But Pawlenty isn't a no tax guy and he recently said some tough things about the McCain campaign.

There's no way Franken can win Minnesota, but i'm encouraged by the results of this poll...likely voters too.

I want to be watching CSPAN and then see Al Franken with his satelite helmet on take the podium and light up the republicans. I am dying to see that. I will send money to his campaign to see this.

Franken went to Iraq before Coleman. On his own dime too.

Why is it impossible for Franken to win a traditionally "blue" state?

He's a comedian and most people now know him for "tax dodging." He's been defined, and if he DOES decide to rally later on, that whole Republican convention should bury him.

Franken's taxes are no different than McCain's back tax issue in San Diego. Franken paid taxes in NY and MN because he lived there and didn't pay taxes in 17 other states where he appeared.
In both McCain's and Franken's cases their accountants were hired to take care of these issues.
Should Franken fire his accountant? You bet. Does he now have a better understanding of tax law? You bet.
Will he win in November? If the VP choice for McCain is someone other than Pawlenty? Maybe, if Pawlenty is McCain's VP, no way.

The people of Minnesota are in a word - wacky. The elected a wrestler governor for chrissakes. I think that Franken loses because he is perceived as a carpetbagger.

Amen to the stranger electorate.
Funny thing is Franken was born in NYC, family moved to MN when he was 4 and after HS went to Harvard, made his fortune in NYC and moved back to MN.
Coleman grew up in Brooklyn NY, went to undergrad on Long Island, law school at University of Iowa and went to work in MN.
2 Jewish guys from NYC running for US Senate in MN, a state that is dominated by Roman Catholics, Lutherans and Baptists. Go figure

It says more about voters in Minnesota, who may now be as dumb as Detroiters who elected Kwame.

If I'm thinking correctly the same poll said that Obama was up 10% over McCain.
It may very well have a left slant. I havent been paying much attention locally or state wide. Ive been distracted with mis-truths of 9/11, NWO, and CFR.

What are they running from if a poll just put Obama up 10 and Franken ahead of Coleman? Paint me a bigger picture....

He'd sure give great interviews on CNN...
"So Al, what did you discuss today behind closed doors in the Senate."
"Mostly we just wanted a break from work. We lit up a couple of joints, knocked back a few whiskey sours, and called a couple of hookers."

...oh yea, and then Rush stopped by and we had to tear the bowl of Oxycotyn jellybeans out of his hand. Really quite hillarious, now that I think aobut it...

If Coleman loses it will because he got a case of DC disease Spencer Abraham caught where one is perceived to be working hard for the GOP and national party issues while putting your home state on the back burner. It can be fatal to first term US Senators.

Not to mention Minnesota is a fairly liberal state. In this anti-Republican environment among blue states, just the party label can be fatal. Just ask, Lincoln Chafee.
