Had he sent the text message this morning, it would have been news, but now it's just dumb. Everybody knows it's Biden.
-A plane was sent from Chicago to Wilmington to pick him up.
-The Secret Service is on its way to assume responsibility for his protection.
-There is a ton of activity at his house.

so this is fun. Obama will be forced to wait the 4 hours for all the SMS messages to go out before announcing anything official, but we pretty much know its Biden.
Still can't believe Drudge got faked out by that sticker. whoops

What did I say PR. A $5K to $10K purchase of Bayh buttons and bumper stickers to throw off pundits isn't a huge price to pay to keep a choice private when your campaign has $300 million.
Now if it isn't Biden, then what?

If he announces someone other than Biden, tonight will have been the world's greatest ruse.
I would have to give him a ton of credit for pulling that off.

Yes, very good use of those donated dollars from the hard working people he panders to . How many $200 donations were wasted in making fake buttons and bumper stickers- this is just wasteful spending of donated money. Hell it would have been better spent on an attack add, not something so childish like fake bumper stickers and pins. Just more attention whoring at your expense.
Hope and change.
This seems like some huge publicity stunt. I am surprised that Obama didn't annouce it during closing ceremony at the olympics by parachute. Pretty childish and "bush" league if you ask me.

This is all going down on a Friday evening going up against the Olympics. I dont think this is ideal conditions for maximum publicity. Besides McCain is going to announce on Friday follow the convention. That seems to be a publicity stunt also.

No more so than most any other politician trying to manufacture demand and interest in a non-shoein race.
Question for you: What do you say about all this if it's Clinton?
--edit-- still think she'd do well as Sec Health/Human Services

Obama is leading the lemmings on like fools. Obamanation is so obsurd, I mean everything about this text messaging stunt, and leading the public on and causing false drama on every move. The only reason they try to inendate the media, press, internet, everything Obama, because, outside this campaign, Obama has done nothing. So the more you get Obama this, obama that, it makes up for obamas lack of experience.

what politician isn't a huge attention whore? If they didn't want the attention, they would be like us and just bitching about what the attention whores are up to.

I think that the text messaging and emails and stuff is very smart...it gets them lists of people to whom they can now send out all sorts of information about the campaign.
I didn't sign up for the text message because i really don't want to get spammed on my phone.

What is Obama going to inspire you to do? Other than vote for him? give him $ so he can make some fake pins and bumper stickers?
How does Obama ispire you? give you hope? He is going to make everything good for you?

no candidate is going to inspire anyone that posts on this board. we don't exactly need inspiration. If he gets a lot of people involved in politics that haven't before, i think he's accomplished a ton...one of the biggest issues i've had with people my age and younger (now) is that they don't get involved. I love that they seem to care now...i hope it continues.
it's a similar thing to what happened in the 60s when all the sudden young people cared. And now those people are old codgers that don't trust anyone younger than them.

It was ingenious. The Obama Campaign now has hundreds of thousands of current, working cell numbers of people who care deeply about politics.
