For heaven's sake - "Change we can believe in" means more of the same lame negative attack ads that candidates have been running for years.
Paging Enricco Loollapalooza to condemn this negative ad.

Unfortunately, studies unequivocally show they work. People love to be told that negative ads are awful that they should go away, but then they slurp the propaganda right up. People are idiots.

Sad but true, and what better evidence than right here on WH, where libs lap up every Obama commercial as the gospel and then whine bitterly about McCain's "mean" attacks.

I don't think it's negative campaigning per se that the people dislike, it's the nonsensical fearmongering and sometimes classlessness that both sides love to do year in and year out. If you're in an election and your opponent has a flaw, pretending it doesn't exist is like putting your head in the sand. That's not the kind of guy I want in office. Do I want them to make it a contest of who is less worse? No, but to go "I'm good, la la la, he's good too, la la la" strikes me as kind of stupid. Stick to why you're a good fit for the job, but don't be afraid to take them on and say why the other guy isn't.
And for pete's sake, if you're going to try and be cute and inject humor into your ads, make sure you get some comedy writers. Some of the stuff this campaign has really laid an egg.

oh yeah...sure ...it is only the "libs" fault. Obama has ad after ad talking about his policies and his platform and then comes out with one or two attack ads and all of a sudden the righties try and turn his whole "change we can believe in line" around like he's some sort of liar.

Exactly. Maybe McCain should trot out an ad showing the 40 dead Chicago Public School students as shootings continue unabated in the city. Wasnt Barry a big-time community organizer? What happened? Maybe he was too busy playing hoops at the East Bank Club or getting a haircut at Trufitt & Hill.

Try to keep up with this one. Enricco/SLU started some thread whining about how mean McCain's ads were. I pointed out that Obama would do the same thing and he shot back that if he did he would condemn those as well.
Naturally, now that the negative ads have started from the Obama campaign - he is quiet as a churchmouse.
I love calling out partisan hacks on their hypocrisy. Is that so wrong?
