I think it's fine for McCain to leak it or announce it whenever he wants. I also think it would be fine if Barack Obama and Bill Clinton held a rally at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome next Thursday night.

CNN reporting that there will likely be an unofficial announcement late tomorrow night after Obama's speech.

They're trying to win an election - not be nice guys. Of course they leak this the night of Biden's speech - it would get lost in tomorrow's Obama speech.
And I love the way they are putting a big break in Obama's momentum by announcing the VP pick the morning after Obama's speech. A great piece of politics and a nice way to roll into the Twin Cities.

I'm new to the election scene, but if VPs are typically irrelevant (at least for the campaign) as they're made out to be, isn't the bar set fairly high to get in the way of a caniddate's momentum?

You could probably say the same about Perles' running game. Was this how Saban lobbied for the job?

It's almost like this is a popularity contest.

And if they win the election how will they manage to govern when the other party controls the House and Senate? Should be dispose of any amount of civility in our government and turn Congress into the Knesset?
McCain is the candidate talking about his ability to work with the folks on the other side of the aisle. Maybe he should start acting like it.

Come on Trev. Politics is politics change is Obama's GAME. This is all about power. NO ONE coming out of the Chicago political machine is EVER for change. They are in to destroying the opponent. Obama is pure extreme left and that is on different in that he makes the Clinton's look like righties.

Per Drudge. The name may leak at 6pm with confirmation at 8pm.

Drudge doesn't break his own news. He has sources in newsrooms all over the country and is able to get leaks from those newsrooms before the news is officially published.
The Obama/Bayh story was true. That stuff was being printed. There is no doubt about that.
