Is this developed as the Obama-Bayh signs?

FWIW, CNN said earlier that it is definitively NOT Mitt Romney.

Maybe CNN analysts said so, but Paul Cellucci just said an hour or so ago that Romney is on the "very short list"

Joe Lieberman will be the pick - to round out the big Senate circle jerk.

Mitt Romney has never said that he wears temple garments. He has consistently refused to answer that question.

Odds are that it is Romney. But, if I were McCain I would choose Kay Bailey Hutchinson, senator from Texas, to steal the woman vote. She is also a southerner and a conservative so that should appease the GOP base.

The person who has been selected will be notified tomorrow.

McCain selects his VP - Mike Allen - Politico.com

Lieberman would find a home inside a McCain administration. I predict Romney as VP and Lieberman as secretary of state. (although I would still go with Hutchinson as VP)

She's effectively pro-choice since she does not believe that Roe v. Wade should be overturned.

That's a poison pill. She will not be McCain's selection.

Right to Life provides a huge amount of support to Republican candidates and without it, it is nearly impossible for Republicans to win. One thing that hurt Dick DeVos in 2006 was the fact that he didn't want to discuss abortion. Right to Life was very tepid in their support until late September, and they didn't supply their customary huge numbers of volunteers. This is despite the fact that Dick DeVos is one of the most pro-life politicians you will ever see (abortion only if necessary to save the life of the mother, no rape or incest exceptions).

Kay Bailey Hutchinson considers herself to be pro-life, but her support of Roe ensures that she will not be the nominee.

That would be just fine with me. I like Dick Cheney.

The problem is, a McCain-Cheney ticket would be hammered. 350+ for Obama-Biden.

They will also go to an event in PA Saturday afternoon, which rules out Lieberman. He don't do Saturday's.

Indeed. Unless he walks to the event and doesn't use a microphone.
