Bill Clinton - "Obama is ready to be president of the United States."
Pretty much all that most Democrats need to hear.
Quote:
|
“I say to you: Barack Obama is ready to lead America and restore American leadership in the world,” Mr. Clinton said. “Barack Obama is ready to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States. Barack Obama is ready to be president of the United States.”

Spoken like a true defender of the Sixth Amendment ( unless it's being applied on behalf of somebody sueing him).

sixteen years ago, you gave me the profound honor to lead our party to victory and to lead our nation to a new era of peace and broadly shared prosperity.
Together, we prevailed in a campaign in which the Republicans said I was too young and too inexperienced to be Commander-in-Chief. Sound familiar? It didn't work in 1992, because we were on the right side of history. And it won't work in 2008, because Barack Obama is on the right side of history.

wow, you mean he didn't say "vote McCain".....
shocker.
I used to love Clinton, but now I realize he benefitted from the Bush senior policies and overall was a major league dooshebag. Thanks for the H1b increase, ****er!

All this after a year of Hellary telling those very same Dems that Obama was not qualified.
Hmmm.....I don't know which of the two pathological liars to believe.

i thought that bill clinton absolutely murdered his speech. I am a self proclaimed republican, who really like obama and with more research could see me voting for obama, but clinton did amazing on his speech. Should garner much support.

No where in Bill's speech did he say that he would not be voting for McCain. His refusal to do so shows he does not support recent college graduate Barrack Obama for President, but rather 5 year POW John McCain.

It's funny how neither candidate actually talks about any of the real problems.
If you're a democrat with ANY integrity, how the F do you sleep with yourself? This DNC was crap, Obama's campaign is crap.
Oh wait, Green Jobs, that will save the economy!
Oh wait, a tax cut for middle income ppl, that will balance the budget!
What a bunch of crap. The fact that McCain sucks just as badly is NO excuse. THis whole business is pathetic and nauseating.

Bill Clinton's ability to make a speech is his strongest ability. The man is an absolute master of speaking in public. Im sure many, many people believed what he had to say last night. Slick Willie was at his best last night.

BHO has already said he will let the Bush tax cuts expire, which will amount to tax increases for most of us. He is naive about all facets of the job that he is seeking and his inexperience will rise up and bite us all in the ass.

Where'd you get that, fairandbalanced.com?
I like how it omits the fact that Obama would be implementing a new tax plan, not just reversing an old one.

So far, he is an empty suit and has not come forward with his new plan. I have heard his speech where in one sentence he said "No new taxes", yet in the next paragraph, said he will let the Bush tax cuts expire (and his audience cheered). If the tax cuts go away, it amounts to a tax increase. If he plans to ameliorate his tax plan for the masses, he needs to tell us how it is going to work. Otherwise, all we see is a tax increase.

Obama's tax plan works as a bottom up plan. The tax relief is giving to lower and middle class families, in hopes they will inject their saving into the economy. The McCain/Bush plan is a top down plan. In theory, it works. In reality, it's been a complete failure. The idea is to give the relief to the wealthy, and hope they'll "trickle it down" to the lower classes. Turns out, they're just pocketing the change. After all, they didn't become rich by being generous.
