Its starting to look like a typical demm speech. Washington's going to take care of everyone, pay for world class education, new teachers, pay them more, invest in the developing an whole new alternative energy system and healthcare and 5% of the tax payers are going to foot the bill and the rest will get a tax cut. Yea right.

Barry doesn't seem to understand that corporations don't pay taxes..people do. So he raises corp taxes and guess who pays. All the people who buy stuff. Sounds like a hidden tax increase on middle america. Nice.

Enough to get him through the election, at any rate.
I'm a nerd. Worse yet, I'm a law student. I want to read long-winded, complicated and mostly boring documents for a living, things that are REALLY detailed. I'm not going to get that from anyone until it's in Congress, though, and I've got to be realistic about that.

Kinda like the whole idea of deficit spending. Thanks for the bill, everybody.

It's not the methods. It's the timeframe.
Come on, 10 years? Good luck with that.

I'd like to say that throwing money at problems isn't the answer, but "instilling a sense of moral responsibility and personal fulfillment" isn't going to get it done.

I think that line is going to get some play in the coming weeks, on both sides.

Nobody benefits from hiring illegal aliens? Tell that the the agriculture industry.
Then repeat those words when you eat some vegetables.

Wow, after attacking John McCain and Republicans for about 30 mins, he says "if you dont have any fresh ideas, you use stale tactics to scare voters" "if you don't have a record to run on then you paint your opponent as someone to run from"
whoops.

How does one become a "change-agent"? Is there some degree program at ITT Tech for that?

I'm not so sure, PR.
He's at a disadvantage telegenically, and not enough people are going to dig below the surface rhetoric. The voters will buy into the star power.

But Obama is much weaker when he's not reading off the teleprompter, it'll look much more even in the debates.
