1. One of Obama's campaign points in increasing "windfall" taxes on oil companies. If you think that they won't turn around & pass that along to consumers, you don't know how business expenses work.
2. Because I think that Bush is an exception not the rule. Someone has to be a conservative in that party. Once the extreme war spending winds down, a bunch of money should be freed up. That may take a little longer than Obama's "get out now" plan, but I believe that extra time is necessary to get at least some benefit out of this quagmire we find ourselves in.
Edit: side note: "wealthy" is a very relative term. To me, wealthy begins over $500K/ yr, as I have plenty of friends making over $250K, and they're not "rich", just well off. Someone making $30K/ yr may say that $150K/ yr is "rich", which isn't that far away, and I'm by No means "wealthy".

I laughed at this...but I probably shouldn't have.
I love how thy trotted out McCain's 96 year old mother last night to show family longevity
Admittedly, the old bird did look pretty good for 96.

You see Biden doing some aerobics? He's got another 20-years at least. Bet he does a mean funky chicken.

Well then Obama's definition of wealthy is A LOT closer than McCain's. He said that a person making less that $5M a year is middle class.

That's not what he said. Even though it was a joke, what he said was in response to what defines rich. he responded (as a joke) "Oh I don't know, 5 million dollars".
So he never said less than 5 million was middle class, he said rich was over 5 million. Which is technically correct.
And before you rip me, I'm an ardent Obama supporter. I just reject misrepresentation of the facts from both sides.

but if $5 million is rich, does $4.9 = middle class?

C'mon man, you're better than this
Here's the clip, 1:45 is where he answers the question in a clear joking manner, around the 2:00 mark is where he comments "I'm sure this comment will be distorted".
Crap, that didn't work, never embedded a vid before. search youtube, it's easy to find. "McCain what is rich"
