Just FYI, the average life expectancy of a U.S. male is...
75.2 years.
Thought you'd like to know.

If McCain dies, there goes ANY experience in that administration.

65 I believe. If he died, Obama would appoint another VP, confirmed by Congress

He's 65, so if he's an average Joe ( ) he's good for at least the first term, and will stick around for 3/4th of the second term. By then, Obama should be up to speed anyway...

So then why are we concerned about McCain dying?

Duh! Because Palin would step in for McCain.
You obviously didn't get enough sleep last night. If experience is the question, then on the Dem ticket you have Biden backing up Obama. But on the McCain ticket, there is only McCain.

It doesn't go up the list? Pelosi, or whoever might be the Speaker wouldn't move into the VP slot?

Nope...it's in the Constitution. You're thinking of the Presidential line of succession.
BTW: the US has not had a Vice President a number of times in our history - including stetches of seven years when the office was only filled for six weeks and almost 8 years when it was filled for 8 months.
Dates the office was empty:
11/23/1814 - 3/3/1817
12/28/1832 - 3/3/1833
4/4/1841 - 3/3/1845
7/9/1850 - 3/3/1853
4/18/1853 - 4/3/1857
11/22/1875 - 3/3/1877
9/19/1881 - 3/3/1885
11/25/1885 - 3/3/1889
11/21/1899 - 3/3/1901
9/14/1901 - 3/3/1905
10/30/1912 - 3/3/1913
8/2/1923 - 3/3/1925
4/12/1945 - 1/20/1949
11/22/1963 - 1/20/1965
10/10/1973 - 12/6/1973
8/9/1974 - 12/19/1974

hmm...let's see...a 4-time cancer survivor is approaching the average life expectancy for an American of his gender is the candidate for president. There is if not a strong likelihood, at least a strong possibility that he could die in office. His running mate is the governor of a state that has fewer people than a major city and two years prior was the mayor of a town with out 7,000 people living in it.

Only an idiot would spout a life expectancy for a male born now to someone born in 1936.
Life expectancy numbers are for those BORN THEN.
The life expectancy for a white male born in 1936 is 58. McCain has already outlived his life expectancy.
Barack's is 62 which means he only has 15 years left until .

But, wait, I thought that lack of experience was a good thing, and showed that there is a "change" from business as usual .
So, please be more clear, is lack of experience a good thing, or a bad thing? And don't start with "Obama has 4 years in the U.S. Senate". 4 years please, I have socks twice as old as that that I still wear.
So, with all of us agreeing that Palin & Obama are "inexperienced" by standard Washington terms, it that good, or bad?

Big difference between Palin's inexperience and Obama's "inexperience". being a small town mayor and a governor at the ass end of nowhere doesn't even come close to experience.

So what you're saying is that McCain could go at any minute now

I would bet that McCain does not make it to the end of his 4 year term....
He looks much paler than he did at the start of the campaign ... He doesn't look good to me...
He probably needs a by pass to get more blood flow going...
Dead serious about this...

Only an idiot would fail to recognize that life expectancy estimates are inappropriate for estimating how long a person has to live, since they assume that death rates will remain constant throughout that person's lifetime.
