Detroit's dumb enough to elect him again once he gets out, or give him Mommy's seat when she quits.

In court: "I lied, I perjured myself, I'm guilty"
Outside the court: "This is all BS, the man is out to get me, I will overcome all of these attacks against me...."

How many things wrong can you get from this paragraph?
Quote:

Therefore, after much deliberation with my family, after numerous prayers, fasting, I have made a difficult decision – I believe the most difficult decision of my life – to step down as the mayor of the City of Detroit. However, my resignation should not stop the continued progress of the place that we all love, Detroit.

Bingo.
My thoughts on his "speech.
1. He took responsibility for zip. He might have as well just said "I take full responsibility because every possible avenue for me to get out of this has been closed off"
2. Morgan Freeman should sue for KK ripping off his "I wanna talk to that young man" speech from Shawshank.
3. He ramped the religious angle up a bit.....he wasn't just praying....he was praying AND fasting.
4. His love of family and the city is touching considering he's dragged them through hell the last 9 months to save his sorry ass and could have settled this thing months ago and now he's packing his resignation as some noble move for them as opposed to "I really had no choice."
5. The blast on Granholm was ridiculous. She did everything possible to try and avoid having to act on this. If I had been her my response message would have been "Enjoy your time in the clink you ****ing felon".
6. He certainly knows his audience though. He knows he'll be back because the City of Detroit is the most racist place in America and he'll be able to use that to get back in office.
7. "Sucks to be you"....thy name is Christine Beatty. She has no power to cut a deal anymore. She's apparently broke. She doesn't have nearly the legion of ass kissers KK does to help her through this. And she has to watch KK say that his marriage is stronger than ever. So she got ****ed every possible in this scandal.,......

After hearing that speech, I'm amazed Granholm didn't instantly reconvene the removal hearings, and announce on statewide TV that under her authority as Governor, the KwamThuginator was removed from office, effective as of that instant, and she was sending State Police and National Guard personnel to immediately remove all his personal effects from the City Hall offices, and he would be physically barred from re-entering the building.

And he rubbed the pot roast all over his chest
IGGcitable boy, they all said
Well, he's just an IGGcitable boy

Wouldn't have really done any good at this point. He'd already cut his deal. If she hadn't dragged her ass on it for so long she could have gotten him removed earlier and had him face the charges as a private citizen....in which case he would have been 100% screwed.
Oh and one more observation. I personally think he should have served more time....but that plea was the BEST his high paid legal team could get for him.......
Talk about a case that was handled poorly. Too bad Johnny Cochrane isn't still alive. He'd probably have been able to not only win the case but gotten Kwame appointed surpreme King of Detroit for life.

He can run again when he gets off probation in five years, getting elected is another matter. If Detroit finally elects someone in the meantime that actually makes some improvement in Detroit he could have a tough time.
