Why is McCain ignoring most of Michigan?

Obama has been to Grand Rapids, Battle Creek, Lansing, and metro Detroit. McCain just has been to metro Detroit as the GOP nominee. Anyone know why?

Because Grand Rapids, Battle Creek and Lansing are for the most part GOP country...you know the side of the state that actually functions...

The dysfunctional areas, Detroit, Flint, The Bay Area...are Dem strong holds.

Grand Rapids voted for Gore and Kerry and I'm guessing Lansing and maybe even Battle Creek did too.

He knows there are not enough Community Colleges in the rest of the state to retrain displaced and unemployed workers related to the auto industry.

You said Grand Rapids, Lansing, and Battle Creek, not Kent County. Lansing is in Ingham County and Battle Creek is in Calhoun County which are not even on your list.

Counties won by Kerry in 2004 in Michigan (USATODAY.com)

Alger, Arenac, Bay, Genessee, Gogebic, Ingham, Isabella, Kalamazoo, Lake, Marquette, Muskegon, Oakland, Saginaw, Washtenaw, Wayne

Wayne County was the margin, as Kerry won Wayne by almost 340,000 but only won Michigan by 164,000.

Washtenaw and Wayne County provided Kerry with his margin of victory in Michigan. Throw out Wayne County and Kerry lost Michigan by nearly 200,000 votes.

Wow, where do the rest of you crazies live? Georgia has nearly 10 million people, with half of that being the greater Atlanta area. Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo and Lansing are not that big, even combined...

Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb Counties (Detroit and its northern and western suburbs) total roughly 4 million people. Kent (Grand Rapids) and Genessee (Flint) counties are another million. 5 million are spread through the rest of the state.

Dumb post of the week.

McCain needs to carry Macomb county.
A dead Democrat will win in Detroit, even Wayne County will beat a live Republican

McCain can drop trou, moon a priest a still carry Ottawa and Kent County. They are the GOP versions of Wayne and Genesee.

Nope, McCain has been through W Michigan since winning the primary. He just didn't have the big production, fan fare, columns AND MEDIA ARSE KISSING COVERAGE as the "all mighty one". I know it was not mentioned on the national news.
