House Republicans The Only Ones Standing Up For "MAIN STREET"
Isn't it odd that the party that is run by "Wall Street" and the "Rich" is fighting for an insurance plan to make Wall Street firms pay for their mismanagement and protect main street.
While the Democrats along with their Republican Senate friends (except a handful) what to ramrod a bill through.
It sounds like another bill the US Congress ramroded through just a few years ago.

Isn't it odd that after 8 years of never parting from their president they decide to do it now that they have dug themselves in a hole? I'm not saying that democrats are innocent of anything either, but this is such ****ing grandstanding, its absurd. They all the sudden remember that they are supposed to be fiscally conservative after all this time? **** you! We helped cause the problem, but we are all up for re-election in 5 weeks and want to keep our jobs so we will stick to our guns for the first time in 30 years. **** that too!! They want MORE ****ing tax cuts? WTF?!? How the hell do they ever think we are going to have to pay for all this BS? That's right, give the tax breaks to the very thugs who caused all this bull****.
They aren't working for the 'main street man', they are trying to keep their jobs in 6 weeks. Don't give me this bull**** that suddenly they saw the light after agreeing with W, and now they are going to fight it. I'm insulted and so should everyone else.

So eloquently stated...I think it is the six usages of *** that did it for me.

So you can't refute anything I said and agree with it all. Glad to know that logic works for some people.

You do realize in that proposal is a tax break for corporatioins? Right? You understand that....? Because you omitted it, but I figured you knew about it, but I just wanted to be sure that you knew their proposal had a CORPORATE TAX BREAK in it. So you knew, right?

Yes. Do you realize that we have the second highest corporate income tax in the industrialized world (only Japan has a higher tax rate at 42%). The last time the US lowered corporate income tax in 2005, the US Treasury reported an additional $300 million worth of capital flowed back into the US. That is a good thing. And these takes "breaks" just don't help Wall Street firms, they help all companies from Microsoft to Ford, to my brother's architecture firm.
Both you and the other poster that used a lot **** are bring up only one point of their proposal. If you truly believe someone should be held accountable, Wall Street should pay a price and the taxpayers shouldn't get left holding the bag then the House GOP is right...don't you agree?

No matter what happens we are forever more holding the bag. Unless you give the entire value of the bailout to the American citizens.
It was all of these bums that sold our future. Now it is our responsibility to let our grand kids and their kids pay for it. We might as well take the cost and put it in the bank in our names and give it to them in inheretance.

I don't disagree with you...but at least the Republicans in the House are trying to tie this deal to Wall Street at some level.
The US Senate (both Dem and GOP) don't want to do that because they are all buddy/buddy with Wall Street. I think the Senate is the worst body of people in the WORLD!!!

Maybe that's why no one has gone from the Senate to the White House...
Until now

Governors make the best Presidents. Jefferson, Reagan, Clinton, Coolidge...all might be in the top 10 Presidents of all time.

What if the House Republicans only think they're standing up for Main Street, but when we look back five years from now, we realize that they were dead wrong???
Is that possible?? Or is it a given in your mind that Senate Democrats, Senate Republicans, House Democrats, the Fed Chairman, AND the Treasury Secretary are all definitely wrong!?!?!
Remember, elected members of the House are some of the least qualified public officials in the federal government.

That was Warren Harding, not FDR (who was Governor of NY before assuming the Presidency and was never a US Senator)

I can't believe you Vlad of all people are defending the $700,000,000,000 bailout of Wall Street WITHOUT holding Wall Street's feet to the fire and the House Republicans are doing that.
