Does Anyone else Find the Incited Rage and Hate From McCain/Palin Frightening?
With no where left to turn, the McCain camp is desperately trying to label Obama as a radical, black terrorist. They're reviving the culture wars in a dark and scary way.
Yesterday at a McCain rally, when he asked who "Obama really was" an audience member yelled "terrorist!".
Then, at a Palin rally, when bringing up Obama's loose connection with Ayers, a crowd member was heard screaming "Kill him!"
And now this. washingtonpost.com

One Palin supporter shouted a racial epithet at an African American sound man for a network and told him, "Sit down, boy."

You really aren't listening to what McCain/Palin are actually saying are you? Instead you are listening to a couple of knuckle heads in the crowd.
I seem to remember a couple of crack heads who crashed the Republican Convention and started screaming things. So what? Or maybe I should bring up that crazy ass group of Democrats in Denver nobody here wants to talk about? Do those nut jobs represent the Democrat party?

lowest common denominator politics have served the GOP well for nearly 30 years.

I totally agree. It is unamerican what they are doing. Essentially telling everyone to be afraid if Obama is elected.
Why anyone would believe anything that comes out of Sally Palin's mouth is beyond me - but she acts like she is somehow one of the choosen few to lead us and that elceting anyone else will destroy the country.
They are scary people.

I agree...
you can't spew the kind of incindiary dialogue the McCain campaign and right-wing hate radio do every day and then innocently expect to be absolved from all responsiblity when those you are speaking directly to lash out in their own hate-filled manner.

As someone who has devoted a ton of hours to the Obama campaign since January, I'm gonna say something that not a lot of people will want to say or hear.
God forbid something awful happens to Obama after he wins in November, there would be some blood on Mccain/Palin's hands.
When one of your supporters yells, in clear ear shot, in clear English, "HE'S A TERRORIST!" you don't just chuckle and brush it off. You have to have the presence of mind to denounce such talk, or at very least, mention it to someone in the media so that Americans know that you don't condone such talk. However, as shown by his recent strategy, it is clear where John Mccain stands.
The other incidents that have already been discussed here in Wells are also worrisome, to me. I feel like the recent tactics are designed to bring the bigots of the GOP out of the woodwork, and could potentially motivate a nutjob to take action. If Mccain still had an ounce of decency, he wouldn't be employing this whole new "Obama is a terrorist" strategy.
**** John Mccain and Sarah Palin.

it seems harmless at first, seeing as its really only their base who are eating this crap up, and at this point, they're pretty irrelevant.
but you have to think some nut-job is going to do something stupid. there is a pretty significant portion of the population of this country who absolutely hate blacks, and are just not going to tolerate having a black president.
so sad, but so true.
and now they're dumping gasoline all over the fire.

Does this go both ways? Also, does it bother anyone the company that Senator Obama keeps and has kept over the years (Ayers and Rev. Wright)?

No more than Keating, McCain's Iran/Contra connections, and Todd Palin's involvement in the AIP.
Look, if you make it somewhere in politics, you've likely run into a lot of sketchy people along the way. I don't see how some comment taken out of comment by a pastor, whether it's Obama's or Palin's, is at all relevant.
Clearly Obama doesn't endorse the "god damn america" line, and Palin probably doesn't believe all that witch crap. Her husband doesn't really want to secede from the union, and Michelle isn't just now becoming proud of America. Obama didn't call Palin a pig, and McCain doesn't really want to be in Iraq 100 years.
It's all a load of crap designed to distract from what's really important.
