Interesting article. McCain will lose the popular vote, but he does have a chance to pull off the electoral votes. Republicans on the west coast won't make the same mistake this time as they did when they saw the exit polls showing Kerry with a solid lead in Florida and hence gave up and didn't vote.
I'm very curious to see what happens with all the voter fraud associated with ACORN. How hard would it be to get a group of ACORN supporters running a voting station with a list of recently registered fake voters and spend they day stuffing the ballot box?

Watch. The ACORN run districts will have more votes cast than people who live there.

You DO realize that the ACORN related complaints were about people defrauding ACORN with phony names like "Micky Mouse" that could *never* be used to vote.
You DO realise that McCain and Obama have both supported the activities of ACORN.
You DO realize that so-called "voter fraud" doesn't come close to actual documented instances of voter suppression.
You DO realize these things don't you?
Of course you do. I understand the cynical partisanship behind your post. We all understand it.

so then why was McCain speaking at their convention and praising their efforts to further democracy if they were always so anti-McCain?

Last July, ACORN settled the largest case of voter fraud in the history of Washington State. Seven ACORN workers had submitted nearly 2,000 bogus voter registration forms. According to case records, they flipped through phone books for names to use on the forms. ACORN has been implicated in similar voter fraud schemes in Missouri, Ohio and at least 12 other states.
Republicans have largely looked the other way as ACORN has expanded its government-funded empire. But finally, a few conservative voices in Congress have called for investigation of the group’s apparent extortion schemes. This week, GOP Reps. Tom Feeney, Jeb Hensarling and Ed Royce called on Democrat Barney Frank, chair of the House Financial Services Committee, to convene a hearing to probe potential illegalities and abuse of taxpayer funds by ACORN’s management and minions alike.

Between you and Ybob, we are quickly seeing how fast the elitist "I know why people are voting and they are stupid" sentiment can change sides.
I've seen a lot of criticism on here for dems saying these kinds of things in the past, why is it OK to do now?

His summary:
Quote:
In the end, I expect McCain to win with around 300 + electoral votes and Republicans gaining seats in the House. To make this short, the reasons why is: -Republican base is energized.
-Reagan Democrats are voting Republican which they haven’t really done since Reagan.
-PUMAs are going for MCCain.
-Many Democrats will refuse to vote for Obama. This ’soft’ blue support will appear throughout the country and will be the reason why Pennslyvania turns red.
I was in Washington DC during the election of 1994. The faces were completely shocked. Why were they so shocked? People in Washington DC and the Legacy Media are not connected to what is going on in the ground, especially in the ‘flyover’ country. In 1994, they were completely shocked by the results. The same will be true in 2008.
|
- The base in energized, but the soft GOP is not. Bush won because of Rove's strategy of going after the evangelicals. McCain has no such "hidden" base that will fly under the radar.
- Reagan Democrats have been Republicans for years.
- PUMAs? Both of them?
- Obama's support is soft? These people were standing in line for 8 hours two weeks before the election.
- Polling is far more sophisticated today than in 94. Further, this guy is not considering that Obama has an incredible GOTV effort and McCain doesn't have one at all.

Whenever this is done, you simply run away from the thread and hide. (see recent Palin 1st amendment gaffe) So no, I won't waste my time or energy.
Look into it yourself or eff off. I really don't care which.
