As an Alaskan, this is glorious. $300,000 worth of taxpayer dollars down the drain after a series of ethics investigations is something I'm not too happy about. (Not to mention, all of that other crap she's done since entering office.)
Well, actually, this is glorious only for a little while. I'm sure she's bound to start her presidential campaign soon.

Well, either Palin is clumsily positioning herself for a run at the 2012 nomination or a major scandal is about to break involving her. Maybe both. If she's got something bad about to hit, it might make sense for her to resign now, focus on damage control, and get the air cleared before 2012.

I only watched a portion of the press conference, but it appeared she was blaming the media for something, and went on some tangent about being a point guard.

Clearly, she is following the Newt Gingrich career path: resign from office and establish yourself as one of the profound philosophers of the Republican Party.

Mrs. Palin, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

I feel like this is true of almost every speech she's ever given.

I really doubt that.
However it appears their political advisers are in need of a good number of stiff drinks before they sit down and try to figure out why both of them are are running their political careers off the tracks.
I know people whose full time jobs are running campaigns. ( both parties ) They give up their lives and sometimes marriages for that kind of work. For Palin to just up and quit is devastating for at least a dozen folks who were working for her PAC, staff and being advisers.
Hopefully this is related to her wanting to be with her family and not another bombshell of violated ethics.
Reading the account of the presser it appears she is going to be hitting the talk show, public speaking circuit and might possibly have a radio or TV show in the works.
As is getting to be par for the course she is portraying herself to be the victim again. I think the old point guard is pulling out the Nixon playbook.
"You are naive if you don't see a full-court press right now on the national level picking apart a good point guard," Palin said, using a basketball analogy.
