That's exactly what they did. They couldn't just defend her, they had to call out conservatives, too. Shouldn't they deal with their own hypocrisy (silence over Nailin' Palin) before calling out anyone else?

No. Please defend that general understanding to me.
I'm dying to hear you defend your apparent belief that a person's importance and their contributions and their intelligence is defined mainly by the level of political office they achieve.
So by your brilliant logic Kwame Kilpatrick was obviously an individual deserving of the highest respect for his contributions so society...I mean after all he was MAYOR of a major city and that level of political achievement automatically qualifies a person to hold some kind of special place of honor to you.

I don't know, I'm guessing you're the only person on the planet who doesn't get it.

Island, except for the fact you brought up this movie thing, I didn't know it even existed. Did you see or buy the damn thing? Because no one I read or heard in the national media made an issue of it except you at this site.
Palin showed beyond a doubt she can't be trusted as an elected leader. She decides a hurried news conference. In typical Palin style doesn't allow questions. Quits a job she chose to run for and was elected by a majority of Alaskans to do for four years because she decides what she has to do is more important than serving the term she agreed to when sworn in (on a Bible).
She might be another Hannity,Limbaugh style GOP/conservative talking head but she will never attract more than 25-30% of voters. That's enough people to buy a boat load of books, and make up a profitable listening or viewing audience but not much else.
Thinking she can quit before her elected term is completed is as delusional as her answers to Katie Couric were nonsensical last fall.

In political parlance...she has virtually just screwed the pooch for the remainder of her political career by resigning before the end of her term. Not only is this broad just plain stupid...she fails to get just how stupid she really is. She just politically drove the stake in her own heart. Yeah...we are really gonna vote now for a presidential candidate who just might potentially quit in the middle of her term. Youuuuu betcha!

Got it.
A person's worth and level of importance in society is determined solely by their political office.
Except for you and Jesus who got their validation from God.
Thanks for clearing it up.

Geoffrey Dunn: The Real Story Behind Palin's Bombshell
Quote:
Anyone who is in any way surprised by Sarah Palin's announcement today that she will not be seeking re-election, and, even more significantly, is stepping down as Governor of Alaska, has not been paying close attention. The signs have been everywhere.
Palin has absolutely zero interest in running the State of Alaska. She steadfastly refused to live in Juneau after her first year there, had the gall to charge the state for residing at her home in Wasilla 600 miles away, and she basically mailed in her performance as the state's top administrator during Alaska's most recent legislative session. She has alienated virtually all the key legislators in her own party -- that's right, Republicans -- and had failed to move any key legislation forward since her return to Alaska from the national campaign trail last November.
In fact, her bizarre appointment for Attorney General, Wayne Anthony Ross, was rejected nearly unanimously by the state legislature -- a first in Alaskan history. Even in respect to energy policy, her supposed bailiwick, she has been categorically ineffective. When I asked those in-the-know what role Palin had played in putting together the recent pipeline deal between TransCanada and Exxon, their response was simple: "None."

Didn't see it, didn't buy it. It was discussed plenty on Wells last fall. I applaud your apparently clean living (you weren't looking for a link, were you?).
I said earlier in the thread she looked to me at the press conference like someone about to lose her mind just a week earlier. If you think it was calculated for political advantage we just disagree.

You're the second one creating a strawman by inserting an absolute.

If she weren't in politics she'd probably be a pastor. I thought some of her rhetoric in the campaign last fall was unbecoming, but she got herself into a dirty game. It's too bad she took the VP nod last fall. I believe her motives were very pure, it seems a loss that she didn't solidify her work in Alaska first.

Yet you give Biden a complete pass for his Katie Couric interview. Typical (would insert smilie here, but I know they annoy GRR)

RQA has had a hellava 14 days of supporting governors.
First we were all picking on Sanford and RQA was about 8000 miles off on that one.
Now Palin where his only comeback is but but but what about Biden?
So of the 3 offices Palin held in Alaska she has quit 2.
Just what RQA is looking for in a president?
