Imagine, that, conservative hero and good girl family values spokesperson Carrie Prejean has a sex tape, and when confronted with it drops her lawsuit against the Miss American organization. But, here's a new one - it's only her in the video and it was deemed too racy for TMZ to post!

I wonder how the numerous Con and "pro family" groups who were willing to pay her millions to pay her to be the new face of the "pro-family" anti-gay conservative movement are taking to this one:

Unless you can provide photos or the actual video from the sex tape, I will be unable to determine if this is indeed a major loss to the conservative movement.

What is the "conservative movement"?

Is it the public air waves ranters or the retiree conservative populists (aka teabag crowd) who want to curtail all government spending that doesn't effect their lifestyle or the corporate conservatives like Forbes and Army who have figured out a way to earn a living running lobby efforts?

As far as the tapes go this is just another replay of high level beauty pageant contestant being far too optimistic that an unfortunate decision from the past will be buried forever. They never are.

Because they don't really care if the people they're putting their support behind are complete hypocrites as long as it advances their agenda. Do you think these organizations ever really believed she walked the walk re: "traditional family values"? Fat chance, but she's hot, had a huge audience, and was willing to do what they wanted.

Hell, if the numerous sex scandals among "family values" people the last few years weren't enough to convince these values voters they're being used, how many of them are really going to wake up because of this?

All of congress is hypocrites. They all say one thing and do another. When the country leans to the right both parties move to the right, when the country moves to the left both parties move to the left. Virtually every politician will stand for whatever gets them elected and reelected independent on if they are a dem or republican.

Sure, that's called politics. But a supposedly ideologically-focused interest group should probably hold themselves to a higher standard than that, considering there's no reason for the group to even exist if it doesn't truly believe in the principles they're fighting for.

Then why are the Family Values folks (who are calling themselves conservatives at the moment) so damn quick to try and use these instant celebrities as their spokespersons?

Its the same thought process that had McCain's campaign scheduling Joe the Plumber for their rally only to find out he stiffed them and didn't tell John McCain whose out there calling for Joe but Joes was a no show. I really think it was the same thought that took over when selecting Palin. A lot of information that would knock other selections out of consideration but her instant charisma trumped everything.

The trouble with politics the way it is played out in America is a game to win re-election and to enrich oneself as much as possible. Should one lose a re-election or "retires" then lobbying or working for friendly companies provides additional lifetime benefits.

No one holds a politician to even the same standards as a local businessperson or friend or acquaintance. They pretend to speak something as if they believe in it and then do the opposite. Unless people are held more accountable things will not change.

Who two people do in the privacy of their own bedroom is their concern and their concern alone and isn't going to affect my opinion of their moral and mental capacity....unless of course it's something really off the wall like the Marv Albart stuff or it has to do with infidelity. But two consenting adults having sex and filming it?! WTF is the big deal? Haven't you ever either filmed or taken pictures of you and your partner? Obviously the less famous of the two consenting adults likely leaked the video for monetary reasons and it's horrible PR for the more famous of the two but what's the big deal? We all have sex, though by the posting frequency and furvor of some of the posters in here...some a lot more than others.

Our society is WAY too hung up on sex.

To address 3 points:

1 - reportedly it's a solo performance.

2 - No, I have not and I can't say I have any desire to. My wife was in Playboy when she was in college but obviously she was alone in that and was not engaging in any sexual acts (and no, I'm not posting pics!). For those people who do tape or photograph themselves (anyone remember the pics of the Louisville cheerleader? Do a search on here), lock those things up and don't give anyone else a copy of the key!
3 - Yes we are.

I will say this, I'd love to see the tape!

Financially she would be able to replace the millions she's losing out on from the "family values" organizations.
