This.

And Forbin is a mod? You have got to be kidding me. No offense, but get a life jerk.

Yeah, though they did say it with all the qualifiers (i.e. early reports in situations such as this often prove to be erroneous).

Good to know.

Good thing this didn't get off topic or anything.

Pretty much S.O.P. for the RCMB.

1. Event occurs
2. Someone posts about it
3. Another poster jokes about it
4. Another poster over-reacts about #3
5. Bitchfest draws in the Wells Hall psychos to bring politics into it
6. Thread moves to Wells Hall

Rinse. Repeat.

Reports of maybe more gunfire...but sounds like 2 suspects are in custody.

Lots of rumors flying at this point, not sure what to believe.

Fort Hood is a big post. Where most of our personnel leave and return from "downrange". Large army hospital with wounded warriors (Warrior Transition Units). III Corps Commander Lt. Gen. Lynch has been very focused on reducing the stress on soldiers at Fort Hood. He mandates family time. Working on weekends is frowned upon. He is very intent on de-stressing soldiers. That said, there is a lot of stress on soldiers with multiple deployments. As for terrorist angle, that would be a prime target since many of the headquarters for our combat troops "downrange" are at Fort Hood. On the other hand, it is probably the most intense in terms of security that I have seen for a stateside post. Yet, it is not tough to get on if you know what you're doing. Reports are that the soldier readiness center was hit. I can see this as a target for a lone psycho gunman potentially, but for multiple shooters, that would be an odd target for military personnel to make. You'd have to have animosity toward the regular lower enlisted soldier to hit that place. A disgruntled soldier would more likely target one of the many headquarters. These gunmen seemed to have it in for the average joe soldier, which is odd to me.

That's right - I recall a piece on NPR recently about him try to tackle the alarming rate of suicides there . . . it would really suck if this was internal - very sad.

Shooter killed, he was a soldier, 2 more soldiers that are suspects under custody. 12 dead, 31 wounded. All the casualties took place during the initial incident at the soldier readiness facility (where soldier get last minute check-ups, etc. before deploying).
