There Needs to Be an Obama Unhealthy Obsession Thread

If we're just going to lump everything that a politician (or former politician in Palin's case) does into an unhealthy obsession thread, there should be the same standard applied.

Bush unhealthy obsession, Obama unhealthy obsession, etc.

We could even just distill Wells into a general unhealthy obsession forum with one big thread.

As it stands right now, it's a double standard.

There is an obvious double standard, but I'd rather not have the mods make this board even worse by merging more threads. They should just stop merging unless there are two threads about the same Palin blunder. But the mods like to keep busy, and needlessly merging threads gives them something to do.

Should I be surprised that the Left can't see the difference between a former Governor of a state with 3 electoral votes and tPOTUS?

Sarah Palin only exists when she can be another of the many victims the conservative movement relies on to appeal to the masses.

Besides if we start lumping all threads together the constant din of criticism is muted. That's something the "conservatives"/Republicans here can handle with Palin but if that was done with Obama it would drive them crazy.

But for a board that is allegedly left wing the self identified conservatives sure do post here a lot.

You and the rest of the Brothers of The Bandwidth love to repeat what Limbaugh, Hannity, Levin and FoxNews feeds you here every day followed by a healthy use of emoticons.

I'll respond to each of you "fixes" because I think you want this country to be a military/corporate entity run by the corporate elite with the citizens having fewer and fewer liberties and being fee'd to death using the crutch of individual choice when its convenient. Free market, the weak die off and the strong survive. You see this as an ideal, I see it as the end of our style of government.

Boy, you really don't have a clue.

Well, I'll give you this. You definitely prefer quantity over quality.

Of course Obama and Palin are nowhere near equivalents, but I still think outlawing new threads about a national figure like Palin is pretty ridiculous. Wells basically never has a whole page of active threads anyway, so I don't see what's so hard about not clicking on Palin threads if you're not interested.

The problem being half the threads were Palin threads which were basically the same, "Palin is soo dumb because ...." type

considering the tone of any post about President Obama by just about every con on here (Chitown and Strangelove excluded) the title should be "the official irrational seething hatred thread of President Obama."

How about this, the next time she does something that makes me think she's really smart, I'll start a thread about it.

Whose fault is it that every time she does something noteworthy it's something that makes people think she's dumber?

Here are my thoughts on merged threads.

Duplicate threads should always be merged

Conspiracy theories (9/11, Moon Landing, JFK) should be contained to their own threads

I do not believe in merging game meltdown threads - I am in the minority on this. I think that people should be allowed to vent for 24 hours and then if they continue the game venting can/should be merged.

I would not have created the gigantic Palin thread and I have only merged two threads into it.

Palin is NOT Obama. Palin is a private citizen with a public life and is on the cash-in tour. Obama is the POTUS and pretty much any and everything he does is news.

It's too bad that Palin and Biden don't remind people that they have kids serving in the Gulf more.
