Earlier this year Michigan State mascot Sparty was chosen to be on the cover of the Wii version of EA’s NCAA 2009 video game, thanks in large part to the votes of MSU fans on this site. Video game television network G4 covered EA Sports’ NCAA 2009 party this week in New York City where Sparty appeared as one of the guests of honor. It sounds like X-Play hostess Morgan Webb may have a little crush on the big green guy.

Tim Staudt of WILX News Ten Sports reports that Michigan State will kickoff the 2008 football season at California at 8 p.m. Eastern time (5 p.m. on the west coast.) The game will be televised regionally on ABC. The Spartans are 2-1 overall against the Golden Bears.

Michigan State head coach Mark Dantonio acted as commissioner in Monday’s draft for the upcoming Green & White game. So far we’re giving the White team the edge this weekend based on the ingenuity of Brian Hoyer’s draft day scheming.
