Sunbury (Ohio) Big Walnut senior Skyler Schofner said last week he was “not too sure” about which school led in the quest for his services. After spending some time in East Lansing, his mind is now made up.
Schofner said he committed to MichiganState earlier today while on his visit there.
Schofner, a 6-foot-7, 295-pounder and the No. 40 offensive tackle in the class according to ESPN Scouts Inc., was also being courted by Cincinnati, Michigan, Boston College, Illinois, South Carolina and Purdue. He is the 15th commitment in the class of 2010 and the highest-rated offensive lineman they have added to the fold.
MSU linebackers coach Mike Tressel and offensive line coach Dan Roushar were the primary recruiters for Schofner.
